Hockinson's Food Service program emerged with flying colors after a three-day on-site administrative review, plus an off-site and resource management review, which completed 21 areas of compliance.
The district received no findings -- that's a good thing! -- and had only one item that required corrective action: a can of olives that came from Spain. (The goal is to purchase all items -- except things like bananas, pineapples and mangoes -- from the United States.)
HSD business manager Michelle Scott reports that, "The Child Nutrition specialist ... had very nice things to say about how fresh and appetizing our meals and salad bars looked and commented on how friendly and polite the high school students and food service staff were."
