Nearly 40 volunteers honored the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and showed their community pride by participating in the 3rd Annual Hockinson Community Clean Up on Monday, January 16. Click here for a short slideshow of pictures from the event.

The event was again organized by Kerry Pinney, who originally started this community service event by partnering with SOLVE, a non-profit organization based in Portland, OR, in 2020.
After a weekend of rain, volunteers enjoyed the dry weather. They also felt good about working together with friends and family to make a difference in the Hockinson community. Volunteers were also surprised by the items they collected from along Hockinson's roads, including numerous auto parts, a car key, and even a shark carcass.
A big "Thank You" to the Band Boosters and everyone who helped our community and environment by removing trash from area roadways. Efforts like Monday's clean up enhance Hockinson's livability and show our community's commitment to teamwork and service learning. Hockinson families are encouraged to save the date for the next MLK Day of Service: Monday, January 15, 2024.
