4/12 Winter Weather Update

Bus

This morning’s spring snowfall created travel challenges for families and we appreciate your patience as we navigate this wintry weather in real time. The snowfall’s timing created some challenges in early notification of all HSD families, especially those in higher elevations impacted by snow routes. Bus 204 ran on a snow route this morning, and Bus 209 ran on a special route. Thank you to families who made quick adjustments this morning in response to inclement weather safety measures.

As always, safety is our number one priority. While school is currently underway, if there are concerns about driving conditions, families may choose to keep their students at home until conditions improve. You are in the best position to decide about your local conditions and your child’s judgment and driving capabilities.

What to expect today:

First Student and HSD leaders will be monitoring road conditions throughout the day today. The weather is expected to improve as the day progresses, with temperatures reaching the mid-to-high forties. At this time we do not anticipate an early release of school today. Also, bus routes that were modified this morning will remain on snow routes this afternoon.

Should conditions change, families will be promptly notified via School Messenger, the district website, local media, and district social media.
