HSD Offers COVID Testing for Staff, Students

Starting Monday, October 25 HSD staff and students can get a free COVID test without leaving Hockinson. 

The Hockinson School District was recently awarded a Washington DOH grant to offer a free drive-thru testing service at the HSD District Office, located at 17912 NE 159th St. 

Testing Location:

Testing Days & Times:

Testing is available every school day during the following times:

  • Monday: 6:45 AM - 9 AM and 4 PM - 6 PM

  • Tuesday: 6:45 AM - 9 AM and 4 PM - 6 PM

  • Wednesday: 6:45 AM - 9 AM and 4 PM - 6 PM

  • Thursday: 6:45 AM - 9 AM and 4 PM - 6 PM

  • Friday: 6:45 AM - 9 AM 

Testing Availability:

This testing service is available to staff and students who exhibit Covid symptoms and want to verify whether or not they are positive for the virus;

This rapid testing is not valid for students who were close contacts and have reached the fifth day of quarantine. Those students must complete a PCR test through another provider.

Test Specifics:

We will use the BinaxNOW rapid antigen Covid-19 test, which takes approximately five minutes to complete. For more information on this test kit please visit: Abbott BinaxNow

 

Test Administration:

Testing is convenient, confidential, and free. It will involve the following steps:

  • Upon arrival, a test administrator will approach the driver's side window

    • Visitor must appropriately wear a mask

  • Visitor will roll down their window

  • Test administrator will give visitor a permission slip to fill out

  • Test administrator will give visitor a Patient Fact Sheet

  • Test administrator will walk visitor through the test administration process

  • Test administrator will give visitor a swab for sample collection and a new ziplock bag

  • Visitor will roll up their window and remove their mask

  • Visitor will insert swab approximately one inch into one nostril and rotate it around the nasal wall 5 times and repeat this process for other nostril

  • Visitor will place swab into ziplock bag and securely seal the bag closed

  • Visitor will replace mask

  • Visitor will roll down window and hand ziplock bag to test administrator 

  • Visitor will receive a text message with their results in approximately 30 minutes 

  • All test results are reported to Clark County Public Health
